Paying Dues to Autumn's Hues

I wanted to display some of my traditional art skills through my schools annual photography contest and with a little help from my friends we created a 'seasons' theme of portraits and close-ups.

Life Never Fades

In each and every photograph a memory is made;
Under the lights and in the sights
Of the lens life never fades.

The radiant spectrum of summer’s coloured heat
Pays its due to autumn’s hue
And grows cold, life to deplete.

In the monochrome of winter lies a treasure
Buried still, deep, ‘til spring to sleep
Beneath the snow; life’s longest leisure.

As the sun rises from shadow to spring
The new day grows, and, just as a rose,
Blossoming fully, life’s new beginning.
